Cynthia, yes, the first book in that "series" (and I used the word very loosely as my historical romances stand on their own) was DESERT ROGUE. Copies may be available through used book stores or even online at the used books section of amazon.com or bn.com, etc. Someday perhaps my publisher will reprint those historical romances plus one that has never been in print! Thank you to everyone who has left a message for me on the guestbook about new or previous books. I am chatting for an hour online at www.writerspace.com on April 13, 2005 at 8:00 EDT. Any interested readers are invited to attend. Happy Spring! Suzanne

Hi Suzanne! I just wanted to thank you for giving my husband "Sweetheart, Indiana" to bring home for me to read. I started it Saturday night and finished Sunday evening! I loved it! And thank you very much for the valuable advice you bestowed upon my husband to pass on to me. I have been dabbling in writing short fiction on internet sites for a couple of years now and love every minute of it. Anyway, I just wanted to let you know just how much I enjoyed your writing style, characters, settings, etc. I can't wait for your next book!

Great new book!! I read it all in one night and enjoyed every minute of it. If only we didn't have to wait until April for the next one! You MUST visit Flora, IN. Its the town I grew up in and is Sweetheart to a T! Its on SR 18 between Kokomo and Lafayette. I've broken free of the small town and headed to Texas for graduate school, but, like Sam, there's no place more perfect-well kinda- than that hometown. I know it'll bring my husband and I back someday. Thanks again for a great read!

GREETINGS FROM AN UPROOTED HOOSIER! I am from Monroeville, Indiana. It's just a few miles SE of New Haven. I have lived in Canada with my Canadian husband since 1999. I've been thrilled to hear from so many of you through postings to this guestbook and through the e-mail address attached to my website. FYI: I frequently use "real" dogs in my books (those wonderful companions of my friends and acquaintances), but I never use "real" people as characters in my romance novels. In the upcoming GOODNIGHT, SWEETHEART, the "star" is my friend Tina's Shetland Sheepdog, endowed with a few characteristics of my own beloved cat. Also, Fort Wayne does have a world-class zoo among its many wonderful community offerings, but the Fort is much larger in population than the small town of my imagination and collective experience, Sweetheart, Indiana.

OK, this is such a chick site, but being from Indiana--and a proud Fort Fun native--I saw the book title and had to find out about the author. Love the Journal-Gazette reference in the book, and could the "Walter P" character be Fort Fun's one and only political animal and my friend, Walter P. H.....?? OK, it's a chick book but I'm readin it and will definitely have to finish it! Hey Suzanne--in your bio, Fort Wayne has a world-class zoo! Best wishes, Peter

Dear Lindy, Thank you for the lovely posting. I'm thrilled to hear you've been enjoying my books. THE GOLDEN RAINTREE (February 2004) is one of the few serious books I've written -- but I believe it gives the reader a different kind of enjoyment. It's still many people's favorite of the 40 books I've penned. Next up is a contemporary romantic comedy: SWEETHEART, INDIANA in August 2004. (The first of a trilogy.) I hope you enjoy both books coming out this year. Thank you for leaving your message.

I will also be signing my latest release, THE GOLDEN RAINTREE. Set against the backdrop of the First World War, THE GOLDEN RAINTREE is the heartwrenching story of a young Quaker woman and the soldier she loves. The annual B&N event was organized by Shirley Jump, who will be autographing her newest Silhouette Romance, THE BACHELOR'S DARE, and B&N CR Manager, Jennifer Naselaris. See you there!

Oops Suzanne, Sorry about that!! I should've read what your books were about, BEFORE, I wrote a comment!! I saw that your books ARE mystery/romance!! Now, I'm TWICE as thrilled to have discovered you!! :O) I'm a mystery buff!! I love a good mystery! Of course, I'm in to all kinds of books, but mysteries are what I read to kind of sit back & relax with......so I'll be picking up one or two of your books, on my next trip to the book store. ;O) Ciao For Now, ~¿~ Quetzi

Ellee, I'm so pleased you liked your prizes from the July Beach Party! Thank you for visiting my guestbook and writing me a note. Erica, I'm happy to hear you enjoyed the Hazards. I always loved that series, too. Next up is what I'm informally calling the "Law Men." It's about a fascinating family -- their last name is Law -- and includes a sheriff, a smalltown lawyer, etc. The first book, SWEETHEART, INDIANA, will be out January 2005 from Berkley. Happy End of Summer!

Dear Suzanne: Thank you for the books. I didn't realize I had "No Ordinary Man" until I received the autographed copy. It was a "keeper" when I bought it and now I have an autographed one too. Thank you. The other two were just as good (wonderful) and I have added all three to the bookcase in my livingroom reserved for "just" autographed books!! I have not made a RT convention since Orlando but hope that Kathryn will have one on the east coast again and I will get to go and meet you and all my other "keepers. Thanks again, and keep writing.......... Ellee

I'm going to share one of my favorite quotes with you. It's from Lewis Carroll's ALICE IN WONDERLAND. "There is no use trying," said Alice, "one can't believe impossible things. "I dare say you haven't had much practice," said the Queen. "When I was your age, I always did it for a half hour a day. Why, sometimes I've believed as many as six impossible things before breakfast." Here's to believing what some think is impossible! Happy March 3rd. Suzanne

I do not like the comic book covers on romance books.I love the sexy covers and the stepback covers.Thank goodness some companys still does the sexy covers! When Fabo was on the covers they looked like romance books. Even Romantic times have stoped with thier beatiful covers, I dont buy it anymore for 2 reasons, the covers are not good anymore.,and they have books in thier that has nothing to do with the romance world. What little they do have is not worth the price. Sorry.

For those of you unfamiliar with my "beloved Quaker" novel: THE GOLDEN RAINTREE is a heart-wrenching love story told against the backdrop of World War I. I think the review publication Rendezvous may have said it best: "THE GOLDEN RAINTREE" is an absolutely wonderful love story. So grab the book and a full box of tissues and barricade the door, because, believe me, you won't want to be interrupted once you start reading." THE GOLDEN RAINTREE was published in 1990 and is currently out of print, but who knows what the future holds.

Just wanted to share some exciting news with everyone. My literary agency has sent Lip Service to Germany, France, Italy, Holland, Denmark, Spain and Russia. Of course, I've been a Silhouette/Harlequin author and we see our books published in nearly every language on the planet. But it's still fun and exciting to have a foreign sale!

Hi Suzanne, I read Lip Service, which I enjoyed. I then went and bought a couple of your previous books. I noticed an amazing thing; I could have exchanged the last few pages in each book. They were almost identical. I'm surprised your editor didn't catch that. It felt like plagerism but it was your own work. Your stories were fun but I felt robbed when I saw how similiar your endings are. Keep on writing. Karen

I defy anyone to read the first few pages and put it down. LIP SERVICE is deliciously witty, clever, sexy and as good as your other books have been--and I think I've read them all--this one is even better! Wish I could make it last longer, but I can't put it down.
